Privacy Policy.
How we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use alamaaraa.
Last updated · 2026-05-17
This Privacy Policy describes how LEDLINE PRIVATE LIMITED (“we”, “us”, “our”), the operator of the brand alamaaraa at https://alamaaraa.com, collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your personal data when you visit our website, subscribe to our course communities, or use our Telegram-delivered services. We follow the principles set out in India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
By using our services, you consent to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or purchase a subscription.
1. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to run the service. Specifically:
Information you provide
- Account & contact details: name, email address, and mobile phone number, captured at checkout.
- Course preferences: the IGNOU programme you subscribe to and the tier (1 month / 3 months / 6 months / 1 year).
- Telegram identifier: when you join a course channel through our single-use invite link, Telegram shares your numeric user ID with our bot so we can grant access and later remove you when the subscription ends.
- Support correspondence: any emails or messages you send to support@alamaaraa.com.
Information collected automatically
- Transaction data: Razorpay processes your payment and shares a transaction reference, order id, payment id, and status with us. We never receive or store your card or UPI credentials.
- Server logs: standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, referrer, timestamp) retained for security and debugging.
- Bot usage: for our AI study bot (if used), the queries you send and our responses, used to maintain rate limits, prevent abuse, and improve answers.
2. How we use your information
- Deliver the subscription you paid for (mint a Telegram invite, add you to the channel, send receipts).
- Process payments and send renewal reminders via Razorpay and email.
- Remove your access from the channel when your subscription expires, is cancelled, or is refunded.
- Provide customer support and respond to your queries.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- Comply with applicable Indian tax, accounting, and other legal obligations.
We do not use your data for unrelated marketing, sell it to third parties, or share it with advertisers.
3. Sharing & disclosure
We share your information only with the following categories of recipients, and only as necessary to operate the service:
- Payment processor — Razorpay Software Private Limited. Handles card, UPI, and net-banking transactions on our behalf. Their privacy policy is at razorpay.com/privacy.
- Telegram FZ-LLC. Operates the messaging infrastructure on which our channels live. Their privacy policy is at telegram.org/privacy.
- Hosting & database vendors. Vercel Inc. (application hosting) and Neon Inc. (managed Postgres). Both maintain industry-standard security certifications.
- Email delivery. When transactional email is wired up, we will use a reputable provider (such as Resend or AWS SES) to deliver receipts and reminders.
- Legal & regulatory authorities. If required by valid legal process, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of users.
We do not transfer personal data outside India for purposes unrelated to operating the service. Some of our vendors store data in jurisdictions including Singapore (Neon’s ap-southeast-1 region) and the United States (Vercel). All transfers are protected by industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.
4. Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in during checkout and to remember your cookie preferences. We do not run third-party advertising cookies, social-media trackers, or cross-site fingerprinting tools. We may use privacy-friendly analytics (such as Vercel Analytics or Plausible) which aggregate visit data without setting identifying cookies. If this changes, we will update this Policy.
5. Data retention
- Active subscriptions: retained for the life of the subscription plus 90 days for renewal reminders and dispute resolution.
- Expired subscriptions: retained for up to 7 years to satisfy Indian tax, accounting, and audit requirements under the Income Tax Act, 1961 and the Companies Act, 2013.
- Support correspondence: retained for up to 3 years.
- Server logs: retained for up to 30 days, then deleted or anonymised.
Once retention obligations end, we delete or irreversibly anonymise the data.
6. Security
We use TLS 1.2+ in transit, encryption at rest on our database, parameterised queries to prevent injection, and time-limited single-use Telegram invite links so a leaked URL cannot be re-used. Access to production data is limited to the founders and named technical staff. Despite best efforts, no system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, write to us immediately at support@alamaaraa.com.
7. Your rights under the DPDP Act
Subject to verification of your identity, you may at any time:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information.
- Request erasure of your personal data, subject to retention periods required by law.
- Withdraw your consent to specific processing (note: this may end your active subscription).
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of incapacity or death.
- File a grievance with us; if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any right, email support@alamaaraa.com with the subject line “DPDP request”. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children’s privacy
Our services are intended for users aged 18 years and above (the minimum age for most IGNOU programmes is 17, but we require subscribers to be at least 18 because Razorpay payments and our Terms assume contractual capacity). We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Grievance officer
In accordance with the Information Technology Rules, 2011 and the DPDP Act, our grievance officer is:
- Name: Aravind Saji, Director
- Email: support@alamaaraa.com
- Business address: MG University Innovation Foundation, Mahatma Gandhi University Campus, Priyadarsini Hills, Athirampuzha, Kottayam, Kerala 686560, India
We aim to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 30 days.
